CRUMPTON, MD - John "Jack" A. Stevens died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at his home. "Jack" Stevens was born April 27, 1931 in Chestertown, Md. the son of the late Frederick Clayton Stevens and Mary "Clark" Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a 1948 graduate of Sudlersville High school. He was a lifetime resident of Queen Anne's county and worked as a farmer all his life. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and he loved going to horse races and working on the farm. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Martin; and three brothers, James, Robert and William Stevens. He is survived by a niece, Mary Halcom of Nev.; a nephew, Steve Martin of Ruttland, Vt.; four great nieces, Melissa, Shelby Hillary and Hanna; one great nephew, Hunter; close friends, Bernard A. "Dickie" Davis ,Sr. of Clayton, Del., Eddie Lockwood of Chestertown, Md.; and care giver, Kathy Lloyd of Chestertown, Md. A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 Cypress St Millington, MD. Services will be held Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery following the service.
