LEWES - John A. Harris passed peacefully from this life the afternoon of Jan. 15th after a gradual decline in health. John was born in Pennsylvania, but has been in Delaware since 1980. After raising six children with his wife, Amelia; he raised multiple grandchildren. John was a retired security guard from Beebe Medical Center and owned a small countertop business. John loved to spend time with his family. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, camping, and a model train sets. John was a volunteer fire fighter for multiple stations in Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amelia and two sons, Terry and Will. John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Goldie and seven children (and spouses): George, Diana, Pat, Donnie, Donna, Kenny, and Lisa; 14 grandchildren, Chris, Amy, Misty, Jennifer, Claire, Nickole, Andy, Eva, Michael, Billie Joe, Amanda, Christie, Josh, and Shawn, 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
