Jill Hershey Barr, 81
DOVER, DE - Jill Hershey Barr passed away, Friday, December 16, 2022 at Country Rest Home, Greenwood, Delaware after a long illness with Huntington's Disease.
Mrs. Barr was born September 7, 1941 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to the late Arlene Hershey Putt and Dillon K. Putt.
She was a military wife and homemaker for 20 years supporting her family while stationed in Washington, D.C., Tacoma, WA, Kadena, Okinawa, McGuire, NJ and Dover, Delaware.
She volunteered at the Airbase Family Services and worked at Carousel Hallmark, Boscov's Gift Shop, Sovran Bank, Bank of America, and Delaware State Probation and Parole. Mrs. Barr enjoyed time with her family, bingo, cooking, baking, traveling, the beach, swimming in her pool, and she was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale A. Barr, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Tracey Barr Harris of Phoenix, Arizona, Dale A. Barr, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jason Barr and his wife Nicole of Dover, Delaware; grandchildren, Maxwell Loper and partner Cathie Aguilar of Phoenix, Arizona, Christopher Loper, Torin Bishop, Caelan McGuire and Lydia Bishop all of Dover, Delaware, Deanna Harris of San Diego, California; and great grandson, Maxwell J. Loper of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral services will be held 7PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Dover Modern Maturity Center.
