LAUREL - Jessie L. "J.L." McInvale died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Georgia, he was a son of the late James and Cornelia McInvale. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 11 years. He was a talented woodworker and was an accomplished carpenter who worked many years for the Gem Carpenter's Union in Portsmouth, Va. He was a longtime member of Liberty Church of Christ in Salisbury. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lucy M. McInvale; sons, Harold Strouth and Billy Strouth, of Salisbury; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne; and sister, Barbara, both of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time at Liberty Church of Christ in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
