Jerry W. Gibbons, 69

HARRINGTON - Jerry W. Gibbons of Harrington, formerly of Annapolis, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69.

Mr. Gibbons was born in Williamsburg, Ky., the son of the late Bert and Amanda (Bolins) Gibbons.

He began working for C. W. Wright for many years as a linesman then moved on to Baltimore Gas & Electric, where he worked for many years as a line foreman.

After retiring from the utility company, he went to work as a truck driver for Ferguson Enterprises, retiring in 1997.

Mr. Gibbons moved to Harrington with his wife in 2003.

He was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, Harrington.

Mr. Gibbons is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen Mae Gibbons; two sons, Eddie Gibbons and his wife Mary and Jerry J. Gibbons, both of Annapolis; five grandchildren, Kerry Simms, Kelsey Gibbons, Jr. Gibbons, Justin Gibbons and Steven Gibbons; and three sisters, Lois Nicholson, Darlene Halbis and Diane Lester.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis.
