CAMDEN - Jerome "Jerry" Brice of Camden, died Tuesday April 24, 2012, at home. He was 76. Mr. Brice was born August 1935 in Erie, Pa., to the late John Brice and Dorothy Hoffman Brice. Growing up he, his twin brother John and their father were commercial fisherman. He served for 7 years in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Brice spent most of his life in Erie, Pa. In 1979, with his wife, he became owner of Portion Products, a wholesale meat and seafood distributor. They sold the business in 1988 and moved to Annapolis, Md., where he became a realtor. With his wife, he retired and relocated to Camden in 2005. Mr. Brice was a member of the Square Dancers, Lads and Lassies in Erie and was past president of "Whirl Away," a southern Delaware Square Dance club. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. Both he and his wife were involved in Marriage Encounter with the Catholic Church as a "Presenting Couple." Mr. Brice enjoyed competitive roller skate dancing, ballroom dancing, square dancing, and round dancing. One of his biggest pleasures during his retirement years was golfing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Donna Lee Brice, 2010; his twin brother, John Brice, Jr.; and his sister, Audrey Mitchell. He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Woodward and her husband James of Waterford, Pa., Leigh Smith and her husband Wayne of Hampstead, Md., and Lynn Wefelmeyer and her husband John of Queenstown, Md.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephanie and Thomas Woodward, Kara, Justin, Dorothy and Jacob Smith and Ryan Wefelmeyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
