OCEAN CITY - Jeanne B. MacNeil, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Berlin Nursing Home, Berlin.
Born on June 13, 1930, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late James T. Barbour Sr. and Margaret Owen Barbour.
On Jan. 21, 1950, she married Hugh A. MacNeil.
While her family resided in Washington, D.C., she was a communicant of Mount Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville where she was also a member of the Ladies of Charity.
Since she has resided in Ocean City, she has been a communicant of St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Mrs. MacNeil was a member of the Ocean City Seniorettes where she enjoyed dancing and in particular Irish Step Dancing.
Surviving besides her husband of 56 years, Hugh A. MacNeil Sr. of Ocean City, are six children: Donna MacNeil of Washington, D.C., Linda MacNeil of Olney, Tricia Dixon and her husband, Peter of Leesburg, Va., Virginia Windler and her husband, Don of West Lafayette, Ind., Hugh A. MacNeil Jr. and his wife, Paula of Gaithersburg, Janes MacNeil of St. John, Virgins Islands; a sister, Margaret Niess of Orlando, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, Christopher Fadden, Peter Dixon Jr., Joshua Dixon, Jessica Dixon, Jill Windler, Scott Windler, Margo Windler, Sam Windler, Carl Marshall, Lauren MacNeil, Brian MacNeil, Brandon Copeland and Brent Copeland.
Preceding her in death was her brother, James Barbour.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary, Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church, Glasgow Street and Hambrooks Boulevard, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends a half an hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow privately at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Hurlock.
Pallbearers will be family members, Hugh MacNeil Jr., James MacNeil, Peter Dixon, Christopher Fadden, Donna MacNeil and Linda MacNeil.
Memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. MacNeil's memory to The Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Shore Region, 209 C. Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804.
