MILFORD - Janice M. Wuthnow passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012, at Brandywine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She recently moved to Newark from Milford, but lived most of her life in New Castle, Delaware. She was born on September 23, 1926, in Waverly, Kan. to Clyde and Elsie Burns. She worked for Bell Telephone and Atlantic Aviation as a telephone operator, and retired at age 70 from the Doctor's Answering Service at Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Wuthnow was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Cloyce; and her older brother, Floyd. She is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Debbie and Pete Ridgely of West Grove, Pa.; her son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Judi Wuthnow of Hockessin; six grandchildren, Deserae Runyon, Chris Ridgely, Scott Ridgely, Julia Wuthnow, Gregory Wuthnow, and Melissa Essick; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service and entombment at All Saints Cemetery will be private. Because Mrs. Wuthnow was such an animal lover, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delaware SPCA, 455 Stanton-Christiana Road, Newark, DE 19713.
