Jane King Bennett

REHOBOTH BEACH - Jane King Bennett died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was born in Wilmington, Del. the daughter of the late Albert Barnes and Edith (Fogg) King. She was a graduate of P.S. DuPont High School and received her bachelors degree from the University of Delaware, class of 1941. She worked as a middle school teacher in New Castle, DE. She was a lifelong member of the Rehoboth Garden Club, a member of the Rehoboth Village Improvement Association and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rehoboth Beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Norman Bennett. She is survived by three sons, Joshua N. (Jot) Bennett and his wife Sandy, Albert King Bennett and Jonathan Wilbur Bennett and his wife Caroline; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Bennett Walker, Lexi, Josh, Dylan, Sean Bennett; and one great grandchild, Eli Walker. A memorial service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, King Charles and Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach. A private graveside committal service will be in Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 or the Rehoboth Beach Public Library, 226 Rehoboth Ave. Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
