GEORGETOWN - Jane E. Dodd passed away, Fri., Feb. 1, 2013 in her home. Jane was born in Salisbury, Md., daughter of the late Russell and Mollie Townsend. She retired from the Indian River School District, but continued to substitute in the cafeteria until last year. Mrs. Dodd treasured her relationships with family and friends and relished the time she spent with them. She loved to host large family dinners; enjoyed gardening and taking care of her many flower beds, and her pool. Jane was a member of Chaplains Chapel U.M. Church. In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Moore. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. L. Kenneth Dodd, of Georgetown; four children, Dennis Dodd and wife Sherry, of Georgetown, David Dodd and wife Ruthann, and friend Mary Shaw, all of Seaford; Daniel Dodd, of Georgetown and Denise Luckenbaugh and husband Eric, of Salisbury, Md.; two grandchildren, Dana Spicer and fiancé, Jaimie, and Kimmy Dodd and friend Tamerra; a great grandchild, Kane; sister, Nancy Downs; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held Tues., Feb. 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's U.M. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, De 19963 or Chaplains Chapel, 13099 Deer Forest Road, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
