James William Thomas Sr.

MILTON - James William Thomas Sr., of Milton and formerly of Seaford, Del., passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Milford Center Genesis Eldercare. Born in Whitesville, Del., he was the son of the late Santa Thomas and Thomas D. Thomas. He worked in the power plant of the DuPont plant in Seaford before he retired. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Seaford. He is survived by three sons; James W. Thomas Jr. of Olathe, Kan.; Ralph D. Thomas of Pa.; and Joseph W. Thomas of Dover, Del.; his daughter, Phyllis M. Lewis of Milton, Del.; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Marie Arney Thomas, in 1994. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Watson Yates Funeral Home, Front and King Sts in Seaford, where friends may call from 10 - 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Seaford.
