DOVER - James Walker passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Walker was born Feb. 6, 1916 in Dover, Del. to the late James Fisher and Ethel Walker Fisher. He served both in the Army and as a gunner on the Merchant vessels during WWII. Among the vessels were the SS Minor C. Keith, the SS Rebecca Bone and the SS Burch-Colley. Mr. Walker worked as a lineman and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and among his favorite drivers was Dale Earnhardt. He was also an avid fisherman and was famous for supplying the whole neighborhood with fish. Neighbors would line up with their pots and pans to get some fish. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Tomlinson Capone Walker, 1978; stepson, David James Capone and his faithful companion and pet Harley. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Diane Policastro; stepsons, Patrick J. Capone and his wife Lois J., Joseph G. Capone; grandchildren, Andrew J. Capone and his wife Kristen, Cathy Cox and her husband Timothy, Michael Capone and Lauren Capone; great grandchildren, Drew Capone, Georgia Cox, and his adored pets Nicky and Tony. Graveside services will be held 11a.m, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Road, Camden, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way #205, New Castle, DE 19720. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
