WOODSIDE - James L. Shaw died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Shaw was born Feb. 17, 1932 in Moore County, N.C. to the late William Shaw and Alma Fry Shaw. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years retiring in 1973 as a TSgt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Shaw in 2010; and his son, Robert B. Shaw in 2007. He is survived by his four sons, Michael Shaw and his wife Diane of New Castle, James Shaw and his wife Clare of Milford, Richard Shaw and his wife Annette of Dover, and Terry Shaw of Houston, Texas; daughter, Julie Legates and her husband Robert of Millsboro, sisters, Vivian Klingenschmidt of Southern Pines, N.C., and Rebecca Wimberly of Madison, N.C.; grandchildren, Corinne Consalo and her husband Anthony of New Castle, David Shaw and his wife Molly of Wilmington, Rebecca Favinger and her husband Matthew of Georgetown, Robert C. Legates, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Millsboro, Caleb Shaw of Houston, Colby Shaw and his wife Kimberly of Mechanicsville, Md. and Matthew Shaw of Smyrna; eight great-grandchildren; and very close friends, Helga Crouse and Jim and Patti Denney. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
