MILFORD - James H. Betts, II passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. Jim was born on Dec. 21, 1945, in Milford, Del., son of the late James Harris and M. Kathlyn Betts. He was a graduate of Milford High School class of 1963. He furthered his education and was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana State College in 1969. Jim was employed until the time of his death by Eastern Shore Energy of Camden where he worked for the past 20 years. Jim loved sharing produce from his garden and was known for his green thumb. He also loved boating and visiting the ocean. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Leslie A. Betts; daughter, Kelli Weidlein and her husband David of Harrington; son, Trey Betts and his wife Christy of Camden; three grandchildren, Madison Weidlein, and Ian and Ava Betts; three sisters, Sally Ann Holson (Phil) of Elgin, S.C., Jacki Keen of Broadkill Beach, and Debbie Simpson (Gary) of Milford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
