'The Gov', 86 Bowers Beach - James G. Gorski, "The Gov", of Bowers Beach, DE, formerly of Greenwood, DE passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. He was born August 14, 1927 in Milford, DE, the son of the late George and Elizabeth Gorski. Mr. Gorski proudly served his country with honors in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed his days driving a wrecker for Mid-Del Auto Parts. Gorski went on to retire after many years of service as an Operator for the Cheswold Highway Yard. In his younger days, he enjoyed searching for arrowheads, camping and surf fishing with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking and his routine daily visits to the Magnolia restaurant. The Gov was known for his humor, quick wit and always had a comeback. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret E. "Betty" Gorski. He is survived by his two daughters, Shelley Gorski and her husband Frank of Bowers Beach and Barbara Gorski of Smyrna, DE. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 3pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 4:30 pm. Burial will be private.
