Tennefoss Sr., 62 BLADES - James E. Tennefoss Sr., died Friday, May 3, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home. James was born April 3, 1951 in Norfolk, Va. to the late Thomas and Sarah Tennefoss. He started his career as a meat cutter, and later went into the restaurant business. His restaurants were known for home cooking, generous portions, and tasting good. He was always working and thinking on ways to improve something, and on many occasions he would sit down and share a meal with somebody to see what they thought of his food to see if maybe there was a way to make it better. He loved to cook. James was dedicated to his businesses and his family. To many of his employees he was known as Big Papa. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister Mildred Dorothy. He is survived by his wife Rosa of 12 years; two sons Jim Tennefoss Jr. of Pine Hill, N.J., and James A. Tennefoss of Blades; a daughter Anna K. Tennefoss of Blades; a mother Cora Tennefoss of Greenwood; four brothers David L. Tennefoss of Shreve, Ohio, Michael L. Tennefoss of Harrington, Joseph E. Tennefoss and Thomas J. Tennefoss III both of Greenwood; four sisters, Janice Schrock, Linda Schrock, Cindy Green, and Penny Sharp all of Greenwood; and a host of nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at Tressler Mennonite Church, 13371 Wolf Road, Greenwood, DE 19950. Funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home in Greenwood.
