DOVER - James E. Smith passed away Friday August 2, 2019 at Delaware Veterans Home Milford.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1932 in Drayton, S.C. to the late Rostand and Roberta (James) Smith.
He was a member of Grand Lodge of Maine, Rising Virtupe Lodge #10 A.F.& A.M. He was a USAF MSGT Ret. 20 years of service. He enjoyed playing pinochle, dancing and singing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita; and daughter, Cheryl Seals.
He is survived by sons, James W. Smith of, New Mexico, Daniel Smith of, Texas; daughter, Lisa Greenley of, Delaware; sisters, Faye Gregg of, South Carolina, Betty Graham of, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, and two great grand children. A special close family friend, Carol Skadsberg.
Services will be held Friday Aug. 9, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park with military honors.
The family request that memorial contributions be given to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963
