DOVER - James E. Murray, 94, Dover, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Broadmeadow's in Middletown. He was born on July 16, 1921 in Gumboro, to the late Ollie and Florence Brittingham Murray. Mr. Murray was Executive Assistant to Chief Judge Robert D. Thompson, Family Court. Elected to Registar of Chancery and Clerk of the Orphans Court in Sussex County in 1960. He was the sergeant-at-arms for the Delaware Senate in his retirement years. Member of the Dover Elks Lodge 1903 and a 32nd degree Mason of the Franklin Lodge 12 in Georgetown. He is survived by son, James H. Murray and his wife Peggy Anderson; daughters, Judy Edwards, Janis Collins and husband Leon; step daughters, Heather Craig, Kellie Croll; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and special care giver, Elsie Mast. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover. The family request that memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.traderfh.com
