DOVER - James C. Meade passed away Tues., Mar. 12, 2013 in Dover. James was born in 1933 son of the late Armster and Harriet Meade in Middletown, Del. After graduating from Delaware State College he was employed as a civil service employee at DAFB where he was Air Terminal Supervisor when he retired in 1990. James was a Past Master of Prudence Lodge No. 6 in Dover where he was an instrumental part of building and managing the New Square Club when it was built in the late 70's up until 2009. He was also a member of the Elks club and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Cora (Bordley) Meade; his daughter, Donna Lynn Meade; his brothers, Armster Meade Jr. and Norman Meade; and sisters, Vella Mae Meade, Rachel Johnson and Doretha Hampton. James is survived by three sons, Wayne M. Meade of Oakland, Calif., Michael L. Meade of Dover, Craig C. Meade of Middletown, Del.; three grandchildren, Jasmine C. Meade and James R. Meade of Dover and Ronald Meade and his wife Molly of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Theodore Meade of Wilmington, Del. and Harriet Brown of Ga. A public viewing will be held on Mon., Mar. 18, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St. Dover, DE. Private Funeral Services will be held for the family only at 10 a.m. on Tues., Mar. 19, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
