James Alta 'Porky' Poore, 57

SMYRNA - James Alta "Porky" Poore, of Smyrna, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 57.

Mr. Poore was born Jan. 30, 1950, in Dover, to Charles F. and Ruth (Burns) Poore.

Mr. Poore retired in 1997 after 14 years as a foreman with Asplundh Tree Co. Prior to that he was a truck driver hauling livestock.

He enjoyed his motorcycles, pets and being with his family.

Mr. Poore is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl (Revel) Poore; two daughters, Angela Poore of Kenton and Rachel Poore of Hartly; two brothers, Jerry Poore and Larry Poore, both of Smyrna; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle Mannino and Aaron Mannino.

Funeral services will be noon Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where the viewing will be held Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m.

Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association of Delaware, 1021 Gilpin Avenue, Suite 202, Wilmington, DE 19806.
