SECRETARY - Isabelle I. Mooney died Friday, July 22, 2016 at her residence. Born March 24, 1924 in East New Market, she was the daughter of the late Herman Wheatley and Myrtle Venables Wheatley. Mrs. Mooney graduated from Hurlock High School in 1941 and in 1946 married Wallace "Pete" Mooney, who died on Nov. 6, 2006. She worked at DuPont and then Airpax, retiring after 33 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Secretary. She enjoyed crafts, reading, yard work and word puzzle books. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Wheatley, Herbert Wheatley, and Ollie Wheatley; three sisters, Eleanor Howell, Virginia Bramble, and Gertrude Cattau. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Scott (James), of Hurlock; a grandson, Gregory Scott (Lynn), of Cambridge; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dyott (Wayne), of Easton; a great-grandson, Cabel Scott, of Cambridge; step-great-grandchildren Meghan McCarter (Ben), of Cambridge, Logan Rippons, of Cambridge; great-greatgrandchildren, Blake McCarter and Ellie Rippons, both of Cambridge; a brother, Russell Wheatley (Jeanette), of Federalsburg; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Beulah. Rev. David Kreek will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 70, Secretary MD, 21664. The Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market is handling the arrangements.
