Isabelle Brown Gill

MILFORD - Isabelle Brown Gill, of Milford, died Friday, Mar. 16, 2012 at Courtland Manor in Dover. A resident of Milford, she was the daughter of the late Jacob W. Brown and Carolyn Applegate Brown. She was employed with Milford Spoon Mill, was a seamstress at Milford Stitching and at Leggetts Dept. Store. She loved her family, & booksand art. She was a member of the Piece Makers Quilting Guild, the Milford Senior Center Peer Group and the Reformation Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Newton W. Brown and James D. Brown. She is survived by three sons and three daughters; Charles and Dora Gill, Robert and Louise Gill, John Gill, Carol and Bill Staub, Arlene and David Wilkerson and Hester and Donald Downes; seven grandchildren, Robert Gill II, Alisha McManus, Dawn Gill-Kelly, Sherrie Wilkins, Trevor Gill, Seth Gill, and Josh Lathbury; two step grandchildren, Lisa Downes, DJ Downes; seven great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; also two sisters, Betty Halfen and Doris Douglas; one nephew and three nieces. In honor of Isabelle' passion for books, knowledge, the natural world and the arts, donations are requested to Read Aloud DE, P.O. Box 60, Georgetown, DE 19947, Friends of Killens Pond State Park, 5025 Killens Pond Rd., Felton, De 19943, Mispillion Art League, 5 N Walnut St., Milford, DE 19963, DE Tech Terry Campus GRID Club (Graphic and Interior Design)-100 Campus Dr., Dover, DE 19901 and DE Tech-Jack Owens Campus-Senior Arts Show, P.O. Box 610, Georgetown, De 19947. A celebration of Isabelle's life will be held by her family in July 2012. Arrangements handled by Berry Short Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
