Irvin C. 'Irv' Bramble Sr., 77

CAMBRIDGE - Irvin C. "Irv" Bramble Sr., 77, of Hebron passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Cambridge on July 30, 1931 and was a son of Oneida Dayton Bramble and the late Charles T. Bramble. He attended schools in Cambridge. On July 12, 1952 he married the former Constance "Connie" Kinnamon. She passed away on August 9, 2005. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. Mr. Bramble had worked at Acme for 17 years and with Super Fresh for 29 years and retired in 1991. He loved NASCAR, dirt track racing, yard work and watching his grandchildren playing sports. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Cambridge Lodge #27, American Legion Post 91, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW and 47 years with Rescue Fire Company as an exempt member. He is survived by a daughter Tracie B. Burton and husband Mark of Hurlock, a son Irvin C. "Clay" Bramble, Jr. of Cambridge, two grandchildren Connor Grant Burton and Gavin Cole Burton, his mother Oneida Bramble of Cambridge, three brothers Emerson T. Bramble and wife Bettie of Cambridge, Charles R. Bramble and wife Dorothy of Cambridge and L. Donald Bramble and wife Peggy of Oklahoma, a sister Peggy Bramble and husband John of Cambridge, a special friend Isabell Phillips of Salem and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father and his wife, Mr. Bramble is preceded in death by a brother Frederick Q. Bramble. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 17, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, c/o Richard Hargis, 205 Maryland Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613.
