IRSD salutes special education ambassadors

The Indian River School District recognized its 2022-23 special education ambassadors during its Oct. 24 board of education meeting.

These individuals were nominated by their peers and community at large for going above and beyond to embrace and promote a culture of support and success for students with disabilities by carrying messages of inclusiveness.

This year’s ambassadors include Amy Andress (East Millsboro Elementary), Amanda Lingo (Early Learning Center), Neil Stong (Georgetown Elementary), Lenny Brittingham (Georgetown Middle), Briana Shuman (Howard T. Ennis), Lori Ann Sentman (Indian River High), Jaclyn Johnson (John M. Clayton Elementary), Meiasha Harris (Long Neck Elementary), Kristie Van Zee (Lord Baltimore Elementary), Conor Casey (Millsboro Middle), Carol Oxbrough (North Georgetown Elementary), Krystal Bush (Phillip C. Showell Elementary), Nicole Cope (Selbyville Middle), Stephanie Fair (Southern Delaware School of the Arts), Jackie Johnson (Sussex Central High) and Cheryl Carey (community ambassador).
