Irmgard L. Wood

DOVER - Irmgard L. Wood passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Silver Lake Center, Dover, Del. Irmgard was born Feb. 12, 1916 in Germany. She came to America in 1923 with her parents Henry O. and Agnes Christesen and her sister Gerda Markarian. She was a graduate of Technical High School, Springfield, Mass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Wood. After marriage she and Donald lived in East Longmeadow, Mass. where she was a member of The First Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister, Gerda; and two daughters, Beverly Ann Gemmill and her husband Walter F. Gemmill of Felton, Del. and Donna Carole Keiser and her husband Harold W. Keiser of Chadds Ford, Pa.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service in Massachusetts will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Paralyzed Veterans of America, Donation Processing Center, 7 Mill Brook Rd., Wilton, NH 03086 or www.supportveterans.org.
