Irma Turner Teague

DOVER - Irma Turner Teague passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, 2 days before her 93rd birthday. Mrs. Teague was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Wilmington, Del. to the late Clarence James Turner and Elsie W. Blockson Turner. She had worked as a secretary for Dupont Manufacturing for 33 ½ years retiring in 1979. Mrs. Teague had also worked for Kleitz Jewelry Store for 4 years. She attended Magnolia United Methodist Church where she was the organist for 12 years as well as being the secretary to the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Teague also played the organ for Little Creek United Methodist Church. She was a prayer warrior, enjoyed Bible study, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Franklin Teague in 1975; her brother, George F. Turner in 1990; sisters, Etzell R.K. Coffin in 2007 and Gloria Coverdale in 2010. She is survived by her son, E. Franklin Teague and his wife Eileen of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and grandson, Frank Anthony Teague and his wife Yara of Houston, Texas; and niece and caregiver, Suzanne C. Jensen of Smyrna; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Little Creek United Methodist Church, Main Street, Little Creek. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Little Creek United Methodist Church, PO Box 485, Little Creek, DE 19961.
