Iris Ann McBride Brown

Brown, 83 HARRINGTON - Iris Ann McBride Brown took her passage to the Lord on July, 25, 2013. She was born in Durham, N.C. and raised by John and Lillie McBride. She was raised in Betterton, Md., graduating from Chestertown High School, Class of 1947, where she was selected to give the commencement address. She then attended and graduated from Goldie Beacom College. Iris and her husband owned and operated Peoples Restaurant in Harrington in the early 1970's. She worked for I.G. Burton in Milford for 35 years. Iris was a member of the Harrington Senior Center; Frederica Senior Center; Women of the Moose; Red Hatters; and a faithful charter member of Pilgrims Chapel, attending every Sunday unless she was ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pat McBride; and her husband of 35 years, Howard E. Brown (1983). She is survived by two sons, Howard Brown and his wife, Bonnie, and John Brown and his wife Linda, all of Harrington; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pilgrim Chapel, 4792 Milford-Harrington Hwy, Harrignton, DE 19952. Arrangements by Price Funeral Home, Harrington.
