Inez Marie Conley

DOVER - Inez Marie Conley passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at State Street Assisted Living, Dover. She was 98. Ms. Conley was born April 12, 1915 in Oklahoma, to the late William E. Conley and Ada Rally Conley. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma State and her Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois. Ms. Conley lived in Washington, D.C. and worked for the Department of Labor and then in the Civil Service Department as a Statistician, retiring after 29 years in 1980. After her retirement she worked as a receptionist as one of the predecessors of Wells Fargo in Washington, D.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Eleanor, Lola and Albert. She is survived by her nephews, Kenneth D. Taylor of Montrose, Pa., James W. Taylor and his wife Pamela, of Silver Springs, Md; niece, Linda Conley, of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; former brother-in-law, Olin Taylor of Clarksville, Va.; grandniece, Jacquelee McKinnon; and a great-grandniece, Rebecca McKinnon. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Pinewood Cemetery, Greenville, N.C. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Conley Scholarship Fund, c/o East Carolina University, 1001 E. 5th Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
