Incident at Dover towing facility leads to burglary charges

DOVER — Delaware State Police arrested Marquise McQueen, 25, of Dover, for burglary and related charges following an incident early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to spokesman Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell, at approximately 4:39 a.m., troopers responded to Harris Towing, located at 5360 North Dupont Highway in Dover, for a burglary in progress.

Troopers responded to a report of a suspect inside of a fenced-in area actively attempting to remove a 2006 Toyota Highlander.

Troopers and an officer from Cheswold Police Department located Mr. McQueen inside the fenced area and took him into custody without incident, police said.

According to police, Mr. McQueen was determined to have been involved in two previous burglaries at Harris Towing in late January.

Mr. McQueen was charged with multiple counts of third-degree burglary, attempted motor vehicle theft, theft under $1,500, and second-degree criminal trespass, along with motor vehicle theft, attempted theft under $1,500, carrying a concealed dangerous instrument, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal mischief under $1,500.

Mr. McQueen was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,601 secured bond.
