Ida Mae Russell Ellis

GEORGETOWN - Ida Mae Russell Ellis, 94, of Georgetown, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born in Georgetown on Dec. 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Belle Wilkins Russell. She was a lively and active woman who loved Bridge, Supported both Del Tech, and the Delaware State Police Museum, and loved to travel. She was a life-long resident of Georgetown, a lifetime member of Wesley UMC in Georgetown, and served a long career as the secretary to the Hon. Justice John J. McNeely, in Superior Court. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, former Superintendent of DSP, Colonel Eugene B Ellis; her brother, Clifford Russell, Sr.; and nephew, Roland Russell, Jr. She is survived by her great-nieces, Kelley Boyce, and husband Blair of Laurel, Karla Mears of Georgetown; great-great-nephews, Jason Boyce of Laurel, Kyle Boyce of Millsboro, Justin Mears of Georgetown; and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, Tatum Otwell, Caleb Boyer, Colbie Boyer, all of Laurel; and four nieces and nephews on her husband's side of the family. Services will be noon, Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 East Laurel Street, Georgetown. Friends may call one hour prior for visitation with the family and to pay respects. Rev. John Van Tine will officiate. Interment follows in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church at the above address. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
