CAMBRIDGE - Ida Blanche French, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Mallard Bay Care Center.

She was born in Golden Hill on July 8, 1917, and was a daughter of the late Edward R. and Ida Keene Gore.

Mrs. French attended school in Dorchester County. On Aug. 24, 1935, she married G. Reginald French who passed away on March 11, 1977.

Mrs. French worked for the late Thomas E. Jones as a secretary and later at Meadow Avenue Shirt Factory and retired in 1970.

She was a member of St. Paul"s United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women of St. Paul"s United Methodist Church and the Mizpah Bible Class.

She is survived by several cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William C. Gore.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, at Dorchester Memorial Park with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey Jr. officiating.

Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Paul"s United Methodist Church, 205 Maryland Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613.

The services are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
