DOVER - Ian Arias, 36, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the U.S. with his family in 1990. Ian graduated from Caesar Rodney High School and worked as a professional landscaper with Lawns Plus for over 20 years. He was a mentor and instructor of tai chi for the elderly and handicapped and taught martial arts to a select group of people. He loved the outdoors and walked everywhere he went and lived a simple and humble life. He also loved children and animals. With this tragic loss, he leaves behind his mother, Maria Christina A. Kurcan and her long time companion Raymond Hopkins; his four brothers Melchor, Gilbert, Jeffery Michael, and James; his two sister, Mary and Joann; Marsha and the late Lewis Everett; and his beloved animals, Auto, Rocco, and Lester. He will be missed by many. His wake will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m at Torbert Funeral Chapel located at 1145 E. Lebanon Road in Dover, DE. No funeral services will be held.
