Howard M. Shutters

DOVER - Howard M. Shutters, 84, of Dover, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at his home. He was born on Oct. 23, 1927, in New York. Mr. Shutters was a custodian with the Capitol School Dist. for many years. He went on short trips with the Frederica Senior Center and enjoyed seeing and meeting lots of country stars. He enjoyed: big band sound, country music, old movies, comedy shows, fishing, gardening, and eating out at birthdays and holidays. He had a good life and will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mary Shutters; and sons, Albert Shutters, and Kenneth Kassing. He is survived by sons, Edward A. Kassing of Smyrna, and Howard M. Shutters III of Wilmington; daughters, Betty Ann Moore and Daniel Bailey of Dover, and Mary Ellen and Tom McCready of Wilmington; brother, Harvey Shutters of Lancaster, Pa.; ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Frederica Senior Center, Frederica. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.delmarvaobits.com or traderfh@aol.com.
