DOVER - Howard M. Shutters, 84, of Dover, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at his home. He was born on Oct. 23, 1927, in New York. Mr. Shutters was a custodian with the Capitol School Dist. for many years. He went on short trips with the Frederica Senior Center and enjoyed seeing and meeting lots of country stars. He enjoyed: big band sound, country music, old movies, comedy shows, fishing, gardening, and eating out at birthdays and holidays. He had a good life and will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mary Shutters; and sons, Albert Shutters, and Kenneth Kassing. He is survived by sons, Edward A. Kassing of Smyrna, and Howard M. Shutters III of Wilmington; daughters, Betty Ann Moore and Daniel Bailey of Dover, and Mary Ellen and Tom McCready of Wilmington; brother, Harvey Shutters of Lancaster, Pa.; ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
