LEIPSIC - Horace E. Pugh, Jr. passed away, Thursday, November 23, 2023, at home.
Mr. Pugh was born April 30, 1940, in Leipsic, Delaware to the late Horace E. Pugh, Sr. and Madeline Cook Pugh.
He owned and operated Pugh's Service for over 30 years. Mr. Pugh was a life member of Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company where he served as Chief on occasion through six decades and awarded Chief Emeritus of Citizens Hose Company in Smyrna as well as Leipsic. He was also on the Town of Leipsic's Planning Committee for Comprehensive Plan Development and served as Tax Ditch Manager.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his life partner, Diane Severson; his sister, Jane Churchman and her husband, Joe.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maggie Sharp Pugh of Leipsic; sons, Craig Pugh and his wife Joanne, and Mark Pugh and his wife Patty all of Leipsic; brothers, Barry Pugh and his wife Julie of Smyrna and Jeff Pugh and his wife Judy of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor) Pugh, Dani Pugh (Stephen Stewart), Taylor Pugh, Michael Lawson, and Ryan Cook; great grandchildren, Reed Pugh, Mackenzie Johnson.
Services will be 12 pm, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm.
The family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
