DOVER - Honora Newhall, formerly of Camden passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 in Kent General Hospital. Honora was born on August 13, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Campbell and Margaret (Thomas) Newhall. She was a 1958 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and enjoyed life as a caregiver for both the young and not so young. Honora has been supported with friendship, love, family gatherings, social events, finances, etc. through the years by many of her classmates, church members, and friends from the community. An email asking for donations towards payment for glasses, hearing aids, medical bills, etc. was fulfilled. Honora was always very thankful and gracious, expressing her gratitude with very long "thank you" notes. Quoting a classmate, "I have never been thanked so much for so little in my life" as I was when I sent money to Honora. Her hobby was talking on the telephone. It is believed she spoke with more people in one day and evening, than most people do in a week. This socialization made her feel connected to her friends and community. She loved to go to dinner with friends. She attended the Woodside United Methodist Church very faithfully. Honora is survived by her cousins John Newhall of Narberth, Pa. and his family, Sally Freestone and Jennifer Saliba; her four loving staff members and classmates Ann Simpson Spence and her husband Donald, Peggy Fifer Mosher, Betty Lou Shubrooks Baker and Bonnie White Johnson. Service will be at noon Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. The Rev. Milton Kemp, who is a classmate of Honora, will officiate. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Special thanks to the Simpson and Spence families for their many years of devotion, care and love. A note of gratitude to Paul Spence for his loving kindness and concern for her always. Many thanks to all of Honora's devoted friends who have helped her through the years. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934, Edgehill Community Church of God, 702 Maple Parkway, Dover, DE 19934 or Woodside United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 45, Woodside, DE 19980. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
