Hilda W. Scott

SMYRNA/DOVER - Hilda W. Scott passed away on Fri., Mar. 29, 2013. She was born on Jun. 15, 1915 in Willow Grove, Del. to the late James and Gertrude Kemp Wyatt. Mrs. Scott was a riveter during WWII. She was crafty and enjoyed gardening and fishing with her husband. They later moved to Naples, Fla. and lived there for 15 years when they moved back to Delaware to be near their family. Mrs. Scott was married for 62 years to the late Edward J. Scott until his death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Scott; four brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Scott is survived by two daughters, Margaret Welch of Dover and Nora Orvis of Smyrna; six grandchildren, Marcia Bingham (Randy) of Texas, Terry Maine of Dover, Peggy Katz (Jay) of Dover, Corey Orvis (Michelle) of Felton, Michael Scott and Greg Scott both of Newark; eight great grandchildren: Waylan of Wilmington, Meredith, Scott, and Nick of Texas, Elizabeth of Neb.; C.J. of Camden, Del., Nick of Dover, and Tammy of Hawaii; 12 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Silver Lake Nursing Home for their wonderful care of our mother during her stay there. Burial will be private by the family on Thurs., Apr. 4, 2013 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, Del. Local arrangements by Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, De.
