CAMBRIDGE - Hester Elizabeth Ennels, 78, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Mallard Bay Nursing Home.She was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Kent Narrows, the daughter of the late Victor Hughes Sr. and the late Hester E. Johnson Hughes.Mrs. Ennels was educated in the public schools of Queen Anne"s County and was employed for Harrison Jabo and her later years at J.M. Clayton until her health failed.She was married to Herman Ennels who preceded her in death, and was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Cambridge.

Survivors include a son, Irvin Dennis "Big Jim" and a sister, Odessa Lewis, both of Cambridge; five nieces, Alice Anderson and Darlene Demb, both of Cambridge, Victoria Lane Sherwood (Drew) of Goldsboro, Sandy Taylor of Hurlock and Jo Ann Anderson of Cambridge; her longtime care provider; 10 nephews, George, Willie and Walter, all of

Cambridge, Eugene of Trappe and Sandra Lee of Philadelphia, Pa., Charles Lanman of Baltimore, Renzi Dennis of Grasonville, Ronnie Dennis of Grasonville, and Earl Lane Jr. of Crisfield and Clarence Cornish Jr. of Crisfield, and a number of other relatives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ennels was preceded in death by two nieces, Marlene Lane Stewart and Getheral Heath; four sisters, Lottie Mae Waters, Ethel Johnson, Goldie Mae Hughes and Mildred Meredith; five brothers, Dorsey Fletcher, Victor Hughes Jr., Frank Johnson, Charles Johnson and Adolphus Johnson; two nephews, Leon Lewis and

Roy Lewis and two cousins, Blanche Tilghman and William Pittman.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with a viewing two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Clarence Rochester will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.Arrangements are being handled by the Henry Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge.
