Henry 'Joe' Morgereth, 75
GEORGETOWN - Henry "Joe" Morgereth, formerly of Pasadena, Md., and Baltimore City, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in his residence. He was 75. He was born July 24, 1933 in Baltimore, Md., to the late Henry J. and Amelia Morgereth. Mr. Morgereth was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, the Baltimore City Police Force, Maryland State Police, and 30 years with the National Security Agency (NSA). He was a member of Lewes Moose Lodge 646, American Legion Post 28 in Oak Orchard, and the Maryland State Police Alumni Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Derek Grant Morgereth (2/1/69-8/21/87). Mr. Morgereth is survived by his wife, Joyce Morgereth; daughters, Gwen Gilliard and her husband Kevin, of Pasadena, Md., and Jill Knauer and her husband Bryan, of Gambrills, Md.; stepdaughter, Dawn Powers and her husband Tim, of Pasadena, Md.; step-son, Mike Hood of Dumfries, Va.; four grandchildren, Caroline Gilliard, Kyle Gilliard, Grace Knauer, and Ellie Knauer; and three step-grandchildren, Morgan Hood, Taylor Hood, and Ryan Hood; as well as many friends in Delaware, Maryland, and Florida. A Chapel service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Chaplin James Lafferty will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
