Dover - Helena Roach Fox went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, in Dover Place Assisted Living.
Helena was born Jun. 7, 1919, in Wachapregue, Va. to William and Helen (Colbourn) Roach. She had worked for the Department of the Navy for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. Helena was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover, and the Investments Club, in Arlington, Va. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and playing bridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Pavlis and Wilmer Leroy Fox; and two sons, Harry Paul and William Roach Pavlis.
Helena is survived by her daughter, Sophia Pennington, with whom she resided; two grandsons, Dewey Wallace, Jr. and wife, Renee, of Midwest City, Okla. and David Wallace and wife, Jennifer, of Newark; two great-grandchildren, Christie Lynn Lloyd and husband, Shane, of Yukon, Okla. and Julia Wallace and husband, Russell Tester, of Newark; and three great-great-grandchildren, Gavin, Liam, and Reese Tester, of Newark; her cousin, Phyllis Walker, of Franktown, Va.; two nephews, Larry Roach and Mark Allen Roach, both of Lewes; and two nieces, Joyce Darby, of Pennsylvania and Linda Roach, of Georgetown.
Funeral Services will take place at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; with a viewing one hour before. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713 or to the First State Animal Center/Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
