CAMDEN - Helen S. Mumford formerly of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. She was born in Georgetown, the daughter of the late John and Mary I. (Tracey) Spicer. She was a Commercial Loan Administrator for Farmers and Mellon Banks in Georgetown. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Georgetown. She enjoyed craft projects, decorating for the holidays, reading and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Mumford in 1990, and brothers, John, Alton and Richard Spicer. She is survived by her son, Dennis "Keith" Mumford of Dover; a daughter, Kathy "Kate" Carter and her husband Steve of Harrington; six grandchildren, Ryan Carter, Evan Carter, Britney Mumford, Sydney Corrice, Madison Leone and Carson Leone; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Carter, Kelsey Carter, Benjamin Carter, Brynner Corrice, Silas Corrice and Lyla Sue Corrice; sisters, Ann Hudson of Millsboro and Pat Gordon and her husband Harry of Georgetown; sister-in-law, Deloris Spicer of Fla.; three nieces, Vonnie Hitchens and her husband Bob of Milford, Kim Robinson and her husband C.R. of Georgetown, Robyn Jones of Georgetown and many more special nieces and nephews; a special friend, Bob Elliott of Georgetown; and grand dog, "Uggie", her napping partner. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at 1 p.m in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 12:00. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
