INGLESIDE, Md. - With her family gathered around her, Helen Reed Walls passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Easton, following a brief illness. Helen was born on Jan. 15, 1923 and raised near Hartly, Del., the daughter of George Louis and Addie Mae Reed, Helen had five brothers and sisters, Raymond Reed and Vermie Sheppard of Camden, Del; Anne Goldstrom of Camp Hill, Pa; Ruth Watkins of Georgetown, Del; and Franklin Reed of Boston, Ma. Helen married Elwood Tyson Walls, Jr. in 1948 and moved to Ingleside, Md. where she was active in church and community life. They had two children, George Elwood and Kay Ann both of Ingleside, and three grandchildren, Angela Marie of Ingleside, and Erin Nicole and Luke Elwood of Scott Depot, W.Va. She and her family were members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where Helen taught Sunday School and served as Church School Superintendent and Financial Secretary for many years. She is survived by her brother, Franklin Reed; her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Donald Nickolson; her daughter-in-law, Christy Walls; and grandchildren, Angela, Erin, and Luke; and her great niece, Nicole Wilkins and her husband Kenny; and sons, Jackson and Cooper. Helen's life will be celebrated at a memorial service scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 125 St. Paul's Rd., Ingleside. A lite lunch will follow. The family request that in lieu of flowers , donates maybe made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 202, Ingleside MD.
