GREENSBORO, Md. - Helen M. Dean, 98, of Greensboro, died Monday Feb. 6, 2012, at the Envoy Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 20, 1913, in Henderson to the late Harry Seeney and Maude Walls. Helen was a 1930 graduate of Henderson High School and a member of the St. Pauls Methodist Church, Greensboro. She resided on her 300 acre farm for 81 years. She was actively involved with the Caroline Memorial VFW Post 7937 ladies auxiliary for 37 years, was the past president 21 different times. She was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Ladies of the Moose Chapter 1546 for 37 years and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 29 for 24 years. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Dill, Kevin Dill, Melissa Dill, Carloyn Lewis, George Topping, Terry James, and Dana Littleton; 11 great-grandchildren, seven great-great- grandchildren; a son-in-law, D. Wayne Dill; and special friend, Darlene Shahan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Purnal Thomas Dean in 1963; daughter, June Topping in 2000; and grandson Tom Topping. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home with a visitation from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral.
