Helen Lucille Stokes, 75

ROCK HALL, Md. - Helen Lucille Stokes of Rock Hall died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. She was 75.

Mrs. Stokes was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Skinners Neck, Rock Hall, daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Susanna (Kelley) Glenn.

She was a lifetime resident of Rock Hall, where she raised her family.

Mrs. Stokes" greatest joy was her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Horace L. "Horse Collar" Stokes, in 2001; and two sisters, Lorraine Heinefield and Betty Glenn.

Mrs. Stokes is survived by four children, Horace "Moo Moo" Stokes, Kevin Stokes and his wife Linda, Mary Ellen Dreisbach and her husband Keith and Lisa Jones and her husband David Jones Sr., all of Rock Hall; two brothers, Ronald Glenn and Kenneth Glenn, both of Rock Hall; two sisters, Shirley Palmtory of Sudlersville, and Patsy Higgs of Rock Hall; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Sunday, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in her home, 21447 Sharp St., Rock Hall. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Md. 20, Rock Hall, with the Rev. Linda Mariner officiating.

Memorials may be offered to the Rock Hall V.F.C & Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD. 21661.
