GEORGETOWN - Helen L. Davis died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Helen was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary (Joines) King. She was a cafeteria manager for 25 years with the Sussex Vocational School (now Sussex Tech), retiring in 1985. She was a member of Asbury U.M. Church and enjoyed gardening and sewing. In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Davis, Sr.; two sisters, Mildred Murray and Catherine King; and a brother, Preston King. She is survived by a son, John Davis, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Banks and husband Tom, all of Georgetown; three sisters, Aliene Wise, of Seaford, Agnes Quesada, of Ocean City, Md, and Nellie Adams and husband Nelson, of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Tommy Banks, Jr., John Davis, III and Matthew Davis; and three great grandchildren, Skiley and Jace Davis and Tommy Banks, III. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Hebron MP Church Cemetery, Seashore Highway, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hebron MP Church, c/o Mrs. Nellie Adams, 21902 Vaughn Road, Georgetown, Del 19947. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
