Heinz A. Retzlaff

MILFORD - Heinz A. Retzlaff passed away on Oct. 4, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amorbach, Germany and grew up in Greenwood, Del. After graduating from the University of Delaware, he worked in the Delaware Public School System both as a teacher and administrator for 33 years. He earned a Master's degree from Salisbury College and a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Wilmington College. Some of his other career accomplishments as the Director of Operations for the Milford School District include the completion of three new schools and major enhancements to the facilities. He was a devoted family man and had a passion for music and the New York Yankees. He was preceded in death by parents, Elfriede and Ferdinand; brothers, Otto and Jimmy; sister, Erika; and brother-in-law ,Brent. Survivors include his wife, Robin; sons, Craig and Jesse; daughter-in-law, Erica; brothers, Willie and Peter; sister, Eva; sisters-in-law, Barbara, Diane, and Amy; and many nieces and nephews. Pay your respects on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Hickory Ridge Community Church , 12237 Sussex Highway, Greenwood, DE, and the Memorial Service begins at 7 p.m. at the same location.
