Healthy Moms webinar to feature Delaware journalist

Delaware’s own Nichelle Polston will be joining the next March of Dimes’ “Healthy Moms, Strong Babies” Facebook Live webinar Thursday at 2 p.m., hosted by president and CEO Stacey D. Stewart.

The panel of health experts and professionals will be discussing the unique challenges women of color face while navigating infertility and the importance of access to fertility care.

Ever since the pandemic began, the March of Dimes has been hosting monthly Facebook Lives with health experts and people who have stories to share, the goal being “to get important advice and information to women and families about all aspects of the pregnancy and birthing experience.”

The expert panel will include:

  • Dr. Maria Rivas, chief medical officer of EMD Serono.
  • Chiquita Lockley, director and executive producer of the documentary, “Eggs Over Easy: Black Women & Fertility.”
  • Dr. Torie Comeaux Plowden, in vitro fertilization director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
  • Nichelle Polston, board member of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.
  • Dr. Camille Hammond, featured subject in “Eggs Over Easy” and CEO of the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation.
