Hazel R. Marshall, 85 CAMBRIDGE - Hazel R. Marshall, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was 85. She was born in Cambridge July 23, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Herman and Gethel Pritchett Robbins. Mrs. Marshall attended schools in Cambridge. On April 17, 1943 she married James W. Marshall. He passed away October 3, 1987. Mrs. Marshall worked for a short time at Sears. She was mainly a homemaker. Mrs. Marshall enjoyed playing the organ and sewing. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by five brothers, Hildon Robbins, Herman "Shorty" Robbins, Paul Robbins, Dorsey Robbins and Johnny Robbins. She is survived by three sons, Gary R. Marshall and wife, Lori, Richard J. Marshall and wife, Joyce, both of Cambridge, and Steven R. Marshall and wife, Debbie of East New Market; five grandchildren, Troy Marshall, Brian Marshall, Scott Marshall, S. Kelly Marshall and Gary R. Marshall Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Blake Richard Marshall, Noah Wesley Marshall and Justin Wesley Marshall; a brother, Kenneth Robbins and wife, Margaret of Federalsburg; sisters-in-law, Esther Higgins (sister of James Marshall), Alice Ann Robbins, Joyce Robbins and Doris Robbins; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was 1 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Rev. Jay Hurley officiated. Burial followed at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family received friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers were Brian Marshall, Scott Marshall, Kelly Marshall, Gary R. Marshall Jr., Tommy Robbins and Mark Robbins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
