Hazel Geraldine Ellis, 82

SMITHVILLE - Hazel Geraldine Ellis, was quietly called home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 24, 2009. After a brief illness, she departed this life in Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton. She was 82. The daughter of the late Hollie Ellis and Henrietta Ellis Lee, she was born June 14, 1927. She leaves to cherish precious memories one daughter, Linna Manokey of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Danny Ellis (Darlene) of Bowie, and Emma Pinkett (Charles Sr.) of Cambridge; three great-grandchildren, Mia Ellis, Charles Pinkett Jr. and Erin Pinkett; two nephews, Gen. Larry Ellis (Jean) and Kevin Beverly (Diane); one niece, Deborah Pugh (Robert); 2 great-nephews, Colin and Eric Beverly; three great-nieces, Lt. Col. Deborah Ellis, Renee Ellis, and Jaime Pugh; two aunts, Florence Wilson and Hazel Wilson; one stepbrother, George Lee; two goddaughters, Amanda Harris (Keith) and Vanessa Meekins (Carroll); a special friend who was like a sister, Juanita Wheatley; special cousins, William Opher, Isabella Keene, Irene Wilson, and Doris and Luther Cornish; dear friends, Margaret Elbert, Sarah Erving, Victoria Jews and Barbara Johnson; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at New Revived UM Church, Smithville Rd., with a viewing Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge.
