Harvey Francis Stoltenberg

DOVER - Harvey Francis Stoltenberg, of Dover, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. He was 87. Mr. Stoltenberg was born July 24, 1923, in Swan Valley, Idaho, to the late Francis and Clara Buman Stoltenberg. He served as a medic in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, and was stationed in Dover, where he met his future wife and moved permanently in 1951. His career was as a brick mason, doing commercial, new construction and residential fireplaces for many companies in Delaware and Maryland. He enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Stoltenberg is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma; son, Norm Stoltenberg of Pepperell, Mass.; daughter ,Sandy Stoltenberg of Perryville, Md.; brothers, Herbert Stoltenberg of Hamilton, Mont., and Ronald Stoltenberg of Auburn, Wyo.; sisters, Louis Wold of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Ramona Prophet of Garden City, Idaho; brother-in-law, John Francis Bell of Dover; and nephew, David Bell of Dover. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association of the Mid-Atlantic, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
