DOVER - Harry Stewart Montgomery passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
Harry was born Feb. 19, 1960 in Dover to the late Robert Douglas Montgomery and Gail Stewart Montgomery.
He worked for the City of Dover Sanitation Department for eight years and the Metro Food market a few years and due to health issues worked only odd jobs from that point on. Harry was a life member of the Robbins Hose Company and had been in all branches of the Boy Scouts. He was member of the Johnny Cash and June Carter fan club and in 1968 he and his father saw Johnny Cash. Harry enjoyed arrowhead hunting, country and western music, tinkering with electronics and being involved in the Amish and Mennonite Communities and was a friend to many in his community.
In addition to his parents who Harry admired and cherished he was preceded in death by his niece, Stephanie Ellis; and great niece, Alexis Gingerich.
He is survived by sisters, Becky Gingerich (Raymond) of Dover, Margie Evans (Jeff) of Felton and Roberta Wendt (Tom) of Harrington; twelve nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at the Robbins Hose Fire Company, 103 S. Governors Avenue, Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Dover Fire Company, 103 S. Governors Avenue, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
Letters of condolences may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
